checking for a friend, does the test consist of the roundy dots concealing a number?
the crowd say successful application depends on color blindness severity

I did a colour blind test in FAS a few years ago. You had to state the colour of a number of different wires.

is that really what the colour blindness test is..are you sure its not the isihara test were there is loads of coloured dots and a number mixed in there with them..? because recently the isihara test is now being used to get into the defense force and all that..so id say theres a good chance of it being used in fas..

i want to go for an electrician apprentice but im a bit colour blind so not sure what to do..ill be heading down to fas soon and ill ask them then..

I've done this test a couple of times in FAS, it's a small flip book with pages of coloured dots, with a number amongst them. They ask you what the number on the page is, then they flip to another page and ask you what the number on that page is (it's usually a different number.) I found it easy, but if you're colour blind  I suppose that's the point of the test really.

Normally they're in a hurry with lots of people to test. I've found they do it quickly, 10 seconds and it's over, your friend may just get through...

Good luck anyway, I hope it goes well. I'd be interested to know how it went.

See examples of the test here: http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/Ishihara.html

Hmm, I'm wondering why you done this a couple of times??
I can make out some of the numbers, I'd probably see 1 in 5 of them.
Does that mean I can fluke a test with fas & get checked months later again? Not that I'd chance it, just wondering.
