Has anyone got there hands on a Nokia E series phone yet, i.e. the E60, E61 or E70 and if so have they used the VOIP function on it?

Have an E61 - there are some issues especially with NAT. Check out some of the symbian forums for details.

Cheers for that, it seems the current firmware doesn't support NAT, so to use the E series as a VOIP handset you will either need to be behind the firewall to connect to the sip server or have a sip server that supports reverse NAT. I don't know if blueface or VOIP Ireland offer such service I doubt it, but then again this country isn't exactly a wash with WIFI hot spots and Nokia seem to suggest that future Firmwares will support NAT.

Elderlemon did you buy your handset SIM free? I know the E61 is going to be released by Vodafone on the 14th of July, don't have any dates for E60 or E70.

That just about sums it up alright. I've heard there is a new firmware in the offing which hopefully will fix some of the problems.

Got the phone sim free for about 400 euros including the vat (which I will get back) and also stuck a 2gb miniSD in it, so not a bad deal. Great phone - makes the BB hardware look like a toy.
