Problem uploading to FTP server?

    working on my 1st website so take excuse my stupidity :)

    when i upload stuff to the server, all i get is root directories and stuff when i view it in a browser, how do i upload my website and get it to display properly?

    Have you made sure that you have an index.html file in the folder?
