Laptop warranty

    Ive had my Dell laptop for well over a year now. I can't remember how long the warranty was on it but its causing problems now and I need to find out.

    Where can I find this out?

    Go to http://support.euro.dell.com, enter your Service Tag number and change the tool to Services and Warranties, AFAIR.

    CAR = collect and return, i.e. dell collect it, fix it, and bring it back.
    I'd guess complete care is you having to send it to them.

    Does that mean that if the battery is abit frigged im not covered.
    Whats the initial next business day thing?

    What does the accidental damage cover "cover"?

    Dell don't cover batteries under any warranty - they treat them as consumables.
    Accidental damage covers things like you dropping it and breaking the screen, or spilling water on it, etc.

    This battery seems to be faulty though rather than wearing out.

    You bought the extended 3 year warrenty which gives you accidental damage cover (if you drop it or spill a pint on it) and also next business day call out. That means call them today and you'll have an engineer on your doorstep tomorrow.

    Battery warrenty is 3 months generally, 6 months max with any company regardless of the fault with it. Not sure if this is covered in the extened warrenty or not.

    Depending on the fault one of the first things they'll ask you to do is a restore or recover of the system.Be aware that a windows restore does not delete your information or programs but a system restore will.
