general piercing Q + tragus Q

hiya, I got my labret pierced just about a month ago and I'm about to go back (to metal morphosis, I know it's not recommended here and although I hadn't a problem I'd probably go to Snakebite or Celestial Ring in future) to get the original piece changed to a smaller piece. As far as I can tell it has healed pretty well and looks ok. I took good care of it and made sure to clean it regularly and I absolutely love it.

Anyhow, I've been thinking about getting my tragus done now as well for a few months, but I'm just wondering - it's probably a really stupid question - is there a recommended time to wait before getting another piercing? Like, logically thinking about it I can't think why not, but ....? Just in case I decided to ask those who know more than I do! :o

Also, with regards to tragus piercings, I think my tragus is pretty small looking (i've become paranoid almost quietly examining other peoples' ears!) - would this affect the piercing? As well, would it be more advised to get it pierced with a ball closure ring or a bar bell? From both Snakebite's and C.Ring's websites they offer both. Any advice as to which of the two would be more preferred to get it done?

    thanks in advance.

I can't find any references to genital piercings in your post :\.

For the tragus, if it's really small (read: non-existant) they probably won't pierce it. It doesn't matter if you get a CBR or a barbell, although I prefer the CBRs (easier to clean imo). I got mine done in Celestial Ring with no problems, but Snakebite's meant to be the best piercing place in the country so you might wanna check that out too.

er...she never mentioned anything about genital piercings, the title says GENERAL!!!

Bluedolphin, it's really up to you how soon you decide to get pierced... I'm not sure is there a recommended time frame, but I used always wait about 3 months or so between mine, just to let them heal, etc. But that's not to say I've always gone 3 months, before getting anything. I don't think you should have too much trouble with the piercing, once you go to a decent place to get it pierced.

As for it being too small, the only way to find out for sure is to go and ask the piercer.
And I'm personnally gonna recommend getting it pierced with a barbell. I had one pierced with a ring and my other pierced with a bar and I found it a lot easier to heal that way. But then, each to their own, everyones different, etc...

phew, I'm glad that little matter was cleared up! :D

Cheers thanks for the info. I was talking to a mate of mine who got it done a few weeks ago with a ring and said she found it a nuisance cos her hair kept getting caught in it and dragging it, so I'll probably go with the bar. I can change it then when it's healed.

Most piercing places suggest leaving a week between peircings, just to give the body a chance to heal.

Keep in mind that a tragus piercing can make in ear headphones a little uncomfortable (imo). I've had two barbells in it, one a flat back, the other with a ball either end, the flat back is better for headphones, and I've no idea about the ring!

Don't know if this'll apply or not, but it's something to consider when picking jewellery.

Good advice! People sometimes forget the minor details before they get pierced. I remember when I got my labret done, I was so excited about getting it done I never thought about how it would effect me eating! I looked like a mental patient for about 3 or 4 days! Chewing really slowly and awkward!:D
