how do i get subtitles on NTL digital?

    well i'm renting in a house that is owner occupied and the owner subscribed to Ntl digital 3 months ago. Everytime i try to access the menu settings for subtitles and toggle it to on, it just goes back to no when i check it again. Is there any way to get it working like Sky Digital or is NTL digital just incapable of displaying subtitles??

    You can only get subtitles on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and on some tvs if you press text on your normal remote you can get them via 888 on RTÉ and TV3 as well.

    Yeah, what An Tarbh said. You used to be able to get Subtitles through the menu method and they looked a lot cleaner than the Text ones. It stopped working though around the same time NTL introduced text support for the channels mentioned above.

    the text on my ntl digital only works once in a blue moon therefore i never have access to page 888. are any others experiencing this problem

    Yep, since we got NTL about 9 months ago, I've only seen text working once or twice, out of about 10-12 attempts!! That NTL box has been plagued with technical faults since we got it (and I hate not having interactive!). It's just not anywhere near as good as SKY (even though I hate them too :rolleyes: )
