    OK, stupid question as I've only dabbled in VoIP so far;

    thinking of getting blueface basic or uk&Irl soon, with an ATA box and all that

    On their offer they say about one geographic number and one 076 number...

    Firstly I assume the geographic number is the phone line number? So whatever my existing house number is, is what that number will be (or do I get another one??)

    From what I gather the only cables connected are the ethernet, power supply and phone itself, you don't connect the normal phone line directly to it too do you?

    The geographic number would be 01 xxxxxxxx, 056 xxxxxxx etc depending on what county you pick, if you want to use your exisiting phone number then you';ll need to port it over to blueface....this takes about 6 weeks, otherwise blueface will assing you a new one.

    Assuming the ethernet cable you mention is connecting to your router which in turn has internet access, then yes that would be all you need connected :)

    They'll give you a new 01 (or whatever) number. You can have your existing 01 number ported over to Blueface if you want (and get rid of the phoneline altogether if you're not using it for DSL), but you don't have to.

    Thanks for that; that's cool; would be handy to have a normal 01-xxxxxxx number that I could give out to people if I needed to; rather than an 076 (which they might confuse as 086 :D) or a mobile number!
