Ok,its a local €50 rebuy event with 30 players.Rebuy period is over and we're down to three tables.Ive been pretty active since the tourney became freeze-out,and have won a good few pots without having to show hands so my table image is pretty good.Ive a healthy stack (approx 27000) with blinds 300-600.Im in charge at the table when utg I raise to 1800 with 2h-3h:rolleyes: called by utg+2(lag with 9,000) and reraised all-in by button for 5,400 total,sb folds,bb folds, theres 9,900 in the pot and utg+2 looks like hes not gonna call.its 3,600 for me to call(about 5/2) and im fairly sure his range here is mostly a strong ace.if im right im only a 6/4 under-dog.Anyway,I called,he had A-K,I hit two pair to knock him out,and other players at the table cant believe i called(including player i knocked out). The post is not really about their point of view,Im just wondering was I wrong to call and lose my table image? as now they might understand I mightnt always have a hand when raising their blinds.
    feel free to critisise

I might understand raising 2h3h on the button to steal blinds but what were your reasons to do it UTG?
If your image is 'always has a good hand', and you want to keep it then maybe fold. As the hand played I'd probably still fold even if I thought the pot odds were good because UTG+2 might come along for the ride and there's very few flops you can be safe in betting. UTG+2 might even go all-in too.

Its very hard to see how you could win this hand with 23 h, but your getting great odds and have the chips to call, so a call isn't a bad play, as your price in.

Fair enough I suppose, but raising utg with 23 h? Dont know about that with 300/600 blinds and a full table in play, but it seems to work Connie

Smooth calling the RRer's button jam is atrocious play, IMO. I RRR all-in here 100 times out of 100. If our friend 2 seats to our left has already called your UTG 1,800 raise out of position and with a bunch of players yet to act behind him, and he is LAG as you say, then it seems extremely likely that he is going to call 3,600 more now with 13,500 in the pot to see a flop when he is closing the action. I think we have to try to get rid of him.

Quite funny this as last night in the €100 freeze out in the club a very similar hand occurred. five players left blinds 3000 1500 i raise to ten in the cutoff with 3d2d button moved all in for 28500. there was a bit of speech from which i gleaned big ace and i called from my 70k stack and won the hand. got some funny looks but i think the call is fine

I think we should all start wearing pink/salmon.

It seems to work a treat for Nicky/Chief Brody.

    Hi Ken,
Ive played a lot over the last 12 months with the llag in question and I had no doubt from his reaction to the RR that he was folding up shop.OOP doesnt mean a whole lot to him and where-as hed call a raise with K-Q,K-J,A-10 etc,he wouls fold anything but a premium hand in this spot and knowing him as I know him,he would have reraised me all-in in the first instance if he had a real hand.

I agree with Ken. reraise all in just in case the other player changes his mind and sees some value. I would not fold and I have often raised UTG with 2-3 but only when they are offsuit. :)
