Sorry if this has been discussed b4 - which is better in terms of picture quality - SKY Digital or NTL Digital. I'm curious as I've seen a few NTL Digital set ups and I've not been impressed.

    Thanks Lads

Just as well NTL Digital is not available in my part of Dublin. I was going to go with NTL because it was cheaper - what us the standard size of the SKY dishes - I have a 57cm lild dish at the moment - the reception is never that great - high pixelation.

Sky is better, but there is that much of a difference, NTL is also pretty good unless you are talking about Sky HD.

You can't generalise about NTL as their service and product consistency is non-existent. Some places can't get the digital TV, most can't get BB, picture quality varies from loop to loop. I'm sure you have the best NTL connection imaginable, but where I'm at (and anywhere else I've seen) Sky Digital (SD) is significantly better.

Just to confirm what everyone else has said, Sky is a much better service. I had NTL Digital before I dumped them for Sky. The quality of the image on NTL would regularly degrade to blocky pixels and ocassionally blank the screen altogether, total garbage! I upgraded to Sky+ and have never regretted it.

I've got both (don't ask) and although I've never had a problem with NTL picture quality (one of the lucky ones) I still think Sky Digital is far superior. Bigger range of channels, slightly better picture quality, and if you've got Sky+, the convenience of live pausing, recording etc.

The one drawback with Sky is the lack of ITV and the digital BBCs on the Epg and the complete lack of Channel 4. If you can live without them, Sky is the way to go.

Not to mention NTL have a completely free after care service which is cool

Of course you can get all the ITV and BBC on the SKy EPG if you have no Sub!!
