    Well?

I've a camping ticket, but think I'll just go down on the Saturday cos don't want to miss the World Cup final.

Most looking forward to seeing: The Strokes, Whipping Boy, James Brown, Republic of Loose, Damien Dempsey, the Who and maybe the Eels.

odd, 'over used', how many years of experence of the internet are you basing this insight on?

It's not a patch on EP (seriously, compare that to last year's Kraftwerk. No contest). Although I will say that this year's Electric Picnic isn't as electric as I'd like it to be.

not a hope, Tiesto in concert would be class(though not what hifi will be).... and then there's Ferry Corsten

(gouryella = ferry corsten + tiesto)

    Armin Van Buuren:

    Paul Oakenfold:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDb395iSixE

Aswell other highlights would have to be Armin Van Buuren, Above And Beyond , Carl Cox
Lisa Lashes and Judge Jules can do a decent enough DJ set though wouldn't call em great DJ's or that......(last time i saw Lisa Lashes all i can remember of what she played was robert miles - children, and sure how can ye go wrong with that?)
Lineup is probally one of the best i've seen in irl(though i don't like any of the main headliners? who the **** are razorlight?)

Razorlight are one of the many ****e indie bands du jour. Avoid at all costs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

Ah well i was likely to avoid anyway, now ye've just nicely confirmed it for me :)

only live act i'd be half interested in seeing is the prodigy but they will likely be up against either FC or AVB so doubt i'll see any of the live acts....
(i've no clue how i'll survive that weekend, at creamfields when i went i was ready to collapse by 2pm in a single day event.....this'll be fun! :) )

You just have to go into festival mode. It's like survival mode but more fun. Prodigy are good live but I feel they're quite past their prime.

Saw the prodigy earlier on in the year, was unbelievably hot in the Point but was a deadly night.

    Hey,
So how was Oxegen. I was working event medical at the Oxegen Main Stage, thought Franz Ferdinand were pretty good, Chilli's were ok. Heard them, but didn't see them, had to watch the crowd rather than the stage. Divine Comedy were good in the Pet Sounds Stage. Heard a bit of Placebo from the Pet Sounds, and Bell X1.
Anyone end up in a medical first aid tent?

€75 to pay off a work-mate to cover my shift, €190 for my ticket, €180 for girlfriend's ticket, c. €100,000 on over-priced food - the only thing that hurts more than my head is my wallet.

Sandi "I Wish I Was Talented" Thom, Emm Gryner, Feeder, The Go! Team, The Strokes, Death Cab For Cutie, Richard Asscraft, The Who, James Brown, Director, Bell X1, Placebo, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Red Hot Chili Peppers, one flooded tent, several renditions of My Lovely Horse, "Deadly Bleedin' Buzz Wha'" and Hit Me Baby One More Time with girlfriend's cousin's boyfriend Chris, one case of misleading price respresentation reported to ODCA, one act of me being masculine and saving the day by rugby-tackling a tent belly-flopper twat to the ground and scolding him thereon, and arriving home at 3am to find myself locked out and standing on my garage roof somewhat stranded later I'm home from Oxegen 2006.

a hundred thousand on food? thats alot of eating or some amazingly over-priced food

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,452 ✭✭✭Time Magazine

In fairness, I included the "c." to emphasise the approximation of the figure.

It certainly felt like that much money everytime we got hungry. €9 for a piece of barely-cooked dog-food quality mince and a bag of chips.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

thats what the c means? i assumed it was just a typo.......

that is pretty pricy/nasty though alright
