Not sure if anyone spotted this, but the Apple Store now as a cheaper iMac aimed at the education market; it has a smaller HDD and only a combo drive, the graphics card is also intergrated and it doesn't ship with the remote or bluetooth but other than that it's the same as the regular 12" model.

Frankly I'm very, very tempted by this; I know it would end my hopes of using the iMac as a games machine with XP installed but still... tempted.... (and maybe I could put a card in later myself?); even with the HDD upped to 160 and the ram up to 1gb (and the remote added) it comes to a decent €1,156; so if the gfx card and drive aint a big deal for you, it might be worth considering.

Frankly the lack of a DVD-RW is more of an issue than the graphics card for me.

Not sure if I can link directly to it, but go to the educational store online and you'll see it..

hmmm. depends if the graphics card is replaceable. if its isn't then its not worth it IMO. but you could upgrade the hd and combo drive yourself for cheaper i think

Yeah, the GFX card is a question, I'd be turned off if I knew I couldn't replace the card at all

the graphics are integrated into the logic board so no replacing them.
