Sonic Activation Module won't go away

    Hallo

My parents have a Dell and surprise surprise it's full of useless crap that they dont need. One thing thats popped up recently is this Sonic Activation Module. It's prompting me to insert the Sonic Activation module disk but Im pretty sure we dont have one. I've tried disabling it but Im not really sure what it is. I cant find an uninstaller either.

It's the most annoying thing ever because it tries to install, you hit cancel, 1 second later it comes up again. You have to cancel/X it about 7 or 8 times before it gets the message and doesnt come back.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this? Thanks

I've searched the Dell support forums and a few people suggested to try Windows Installer Cleanup. Let us know how you get on.

That worked perfectly I think. Just restarted and no prompt to install. Thanks a lot :)

What you want to do to remove the annoying Sonic stuff is this :
go to start => Run... => typ " msconfig " => go to "startup " => uncheck the the "isupm " and the "issch" box.... restart and your done.

    good luck
    oops! too late

Restart the computer . On reboot you'll get a popup saying you have used the configuration utility (or something like that anyway!) . Tick the box that says "Dont show this message or run the utility on start up" .

The wording isn't exactly as above but it should be near enough that you get the gist :)

The 'cure' of going to msconfig and unchecking the two issum and the other one worked GREAT!!!!!
