Just wondering how long did it take people to find their first job after graduating from college or finishing school???
I've finished college and am still looking for my first job

You probably don't want to hear this but I sorted mine before I left college, that was back in 2000. Did you try the milkrounds?

Got a job teaching the day before they were dure to start back in September (2003). Had UP1 filled out and all ready to sign on the dole when the phone call came. mind you i had 86 rejection letters for all sorts of jobs so dont be disheartned. i've a permanent job now and am settled and happy.

6 months for me, so hang in there! well i was working full time in the job i was in part-time suring college over that period, so it's not like i was unemployed, but i made sure to take my time finding something that i's relatively like - after all you'll be working for 40 odd years so taking a few months to find a job isn't a big problem tbh! :) good luck with it.

Meh. Working in a min wage job, but still looking. I find it easier to look for a job, if you have a job, if that makes sense.

I was working part-time for 3 months after I graduated and then I got a full time job related to my degree.

    Good luck,

Had my job before I finished my post grad. Applied to three places, got second round interviews with them all, took the first offer that I got. (Which was the one I really wanted.)

Graduated in June 2000 and got a job in August 2000 in IT. The next year though people who did my course couldn't get a job for over a year!

Graduated in June 99, went away for the summer, came back in november and started working in December. Like monkeywrench though i know people from the couple of years after me who were waiting 6 months to a year.
