Off gasing from polystyrene type insulations

This is just a general query. Is there a genuine issue with dangerous emissions from the various types of insulations. In particular the polystrene types.

I'm talking about once the house is up. Not during the manufacturing of the insulations.

Alot of the green building companies\suppliers push this as an issue. They have their own agenda though.

Basically with the options available for a build, i.e.
Timber frame, SIPs, Poroton blocks, ICF etc. I'm getting myself more confused as to what to go for.

ICF has alot of benefits from what I've seen but if there is a reasonable risk from the large amounts of polystrene it uses then its probably out.

    Thoughts?
