I'm interested in making a career change and becoming a chef. I was thinking of doing the intensive Ballymaloe course. Has anyone done this and if so would it be a good way to get into a career as a chef?

    Thanks,
    Maggz

I think Ballymaloe relish is delicious and their courses, books and TV shows are spledid!

Stay away from ballymaloe, the certificate you get at the end, only good for wiping your back passage. Seriously though, its over priced.
Contact DIT Cathal Brugha Street, if this college suits you,ask about their chef courses and what the requirements are to be eligible. The qualification you get from this college or any other proper chef college around the country will stand to you much better than ballymaloe, where they teach you to cook four portions of everything, so far removed from the reality and hard graft that is a chef's life.

    You could contact CERT.

I tried to add the link but I wasn't allowed because I'm a new user or so it said.

Google CERT Ireland and you will get it.

    Best of Luck
