Hooking my laptop up to 5.1 speakers?

    can this be done? how do i get 6 rca leads into my laptop? any help will be really appreciated!!!

    Do you have a 5.1 card in your laptop?

    If not, maybe you can probably get a PCMCIA 5.1 card.

    Unfortunately not!

    i saw some PCMCIA cards but how would i get the six rca leads into that?

    I have the Soundblaster Live external USB 5.1 sound card. It takes the 5 speakers and the sub-woofer. Great sound from it.

    It was around 60 Euro, I think Argos actually do it now.

    Hmm, I wonder if the X-Fi series come in USB/Laptop card format.

    I must investigate, looking for a bit more oomph out of my system too.
