Have you been to Fibbers Recently?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,834 ✭✭✭Toast

    Unfortunately*.. yes I have.

Have you been at a Kerbdog concert recently? Its not so much where they will put them but they sold out TBMC last time they played so where are they going to put the crowd?

*I still love it deep down...really.

they may be a decent band, AND may have sold out TBMC, but on general principle, i refuse to pay 20 quid to see a band in Fibbers.

well....unless someone informs me that Kerbdog crowd plus small venue equals mayhem :p

Saw them in TBMC. Was a good gig but Cormac seemed to forget a lot of the words! I can't make it to this one because I'll be away.

Hey there, anyone going to see Kerbdog on Friday? I'm trying to wangle my way outta work to go, always wanted to see them play. Was well chuffed when they reformed, didn't think much of Wilt :p

Im going in equal amounts to see:
    • The band.
    • How they're gonna work this logistically.

I thought when they played the TBMC before christmas that it was gonna be there last gig "at least until we need some money", who or what got them to play fibbers? Still, I'll probably go.

I ran into Cormac Battle a couple of weeks ago and asked him about this and he specifically said they werent doing it for the money.

If I had to guess Id say the gig is more for the benefit of the other bands on the bill to play support to a well known name. Speaking of which are any of them any good? Samples up anywhere?

I reckon they're doing it for the cash... why else would fibbers be charging €20 in, that's 10 times what it costs to see any other fibbers gig, it is however gonna rock... must get a ticket!

all I know is I love Kerbdog and would pay just about anything (within reason) to see them. And €20 is definitely reasonable when you consider what others are charging at the moment.

I saw them first in 94 when they supported Therapy? in Cork City Hall, with Pet Lamb. Saw them a few times since, including their "last ever show" in the Crazy Horse in Cork in 98ish. Since then I was also at their 2 shows last year - in the TBMC and also in Nancy Spains in Cork. And I've got my ticket to see them in Fibbers tomorrow night.

In short, forget the money and the venue - if you want to see a great band live before they finally mean it about their "last show" be in fibbers Friday night.

    There, rant over!

ps. Never liked wilt, but saw them live while people shouted for Kerbdog songs!

i saw mike got spiked and september sun in fibbers and there was about 100, 200 people in the crowd and it was a sweat box jammers like... ****ing deadly gig BUT i heard there are 500 tickets for kerbdog for sale. what the ****. i honestly don't see how its gonna work. best bring the pocket fans lads and ladies. theres too many corners and random walls blocking the view of the stage for them to justify cramming that many people in there... its gonna be sick
    ...someone take pictures please
    ;)

Damn night shifts, I'm working tonight, gotta then go home at half 7 and try get enough sleep to go do an evening shift (3pm) and then try and get finished at a respectible enough hour so I can go to this gig and not collapse from lack of sleep. Doesn't look good for our intrepid hero... :(
