Hey all. I have been looking for a summer job for a bit now. I am getting one in Blanch. Anyway, this means that I will have to commute between Navan and Blanch almost everyday. I am only 16 and don't have a student travel card, is there any way at all to cut the cost of commuting?

Ask if anyone does a car pool?

How are you travelling at the moment?

As far as I know, you have to be in third level education to avail of the student card. As I am only 16 I am not in third level. Under 16's get the bus fair from Navan to Dublin return for about €8, whereas adults get it for about €14 or €15. I think I will have to abandone Blanch now because I rang Bus Eireann today to ask about an adult weekly ticket and I was quoted, roughly about €46. Now that is only for the week and would be a huge chung out of my wages. I just could not afford to use this type of travel.

Can you not get a Usit style card on the basis you are still in school?

    You'd get a discount/student ticket then..

I used to have one in secondary school

Navan - Blanchardstown adult 10 journey ticket costs €42.50 or €38.30 bought online.
