I am currently investigating starting to learn Java and am just wondering (obviously) what I need to begin learning this language?

I dont have a programming background, so which would be the best route for me. Can anyone recommend any books, courses that I can investigate.

I am currently working in an Apache/Tomcat enviroment but its mostly related to basic JSP work

You could try some of the O'Reillys books i'm sure they have some on Java.
