Revolution for Dogs appear to have secured a certain venue on Camden st on Saturday the 5th of August. Now the challenge is filling the place. We have a fairly good crowd, but probably not enough to sell the gig out. Also as it’s the bank holiday weekend, it may be a bit more challenging getting a crowd than we think.

So I’ve been doing quite a bit of thinking about how we can encourage a crowd. We‘ve been involved in lots of crap gigs where your given tickets by the oranisers, and then once you’ve embaraced yourself by trying to get money off friend who may or may not want to go, the organisor gives you a paultry insulting amount of money back. Well we’re not here for paultry amounts of money. If we were we would probably be a covers band.

So here is the new suggestion. I’m not sure what the cost of the venue will be yet, or the price of the engineer etc, but when we know that, we will be offering two bands slots as support. We propose to get the other two bands to pay a portion (probably one at ¼ and one at 1/3) of the costs. Then all three bands will be given 200 concessions (more if you like, I don’t care). Concessions will get you in for free, unless the place is already full.

So the idea would be that bands can charge people for these concessions, or give them out for free, we don’t mind. The important thing is that we have a full house (lets face it, that’s what everyone is trying for here.

We then plan to charge €12 at the door so we can make people feel as if they have been given something of value.

ps, as we're not a metal abnd, we would prefer not to have anyone too heavy playing with us. Its just a bit unfair on the punters if the bands are too different in style. Sorry

dont knock cover bands mate, they can make alot of money without having to hand out tickets and all that crap!

As I say, this is not about money, if it were about money, then we would be wise to be a covers band (which are better for making money, as you said)

Never could understand why original bands don't just foot the bill for venue hire and do a free for all to get people in the door. This idea of "making your money back" really isnt showing much innovation but some bands are happy to be thinking inside the box....:rolleyes:

its dextra here to me its abaot the love for music **** the money man but fare play to cover bands any way there are some great ones out there and im in an origanal band my self amd love the ****ing hard ship that geos with rock on dextra him self
