The following hand is from a satellite to FTP's 100 seat tourney in 10 days, $24 buy in to win a $500 seat, 70 entrants we're down to the last 24 and i've been playing quite aggresively, also near the chip lead. top 4 get the $500 entry

    Full Tilt Poker Game #768882191: WSOP 100 Seat Satellite (4953390), Table 8 - 100/200 - No Limit Hold'em - 19:58:28 ET - 2006/07/04
    Seat 1: allbluffs34 (9,044)
    Seat 2: tjmjr (5,180)
    Seat 3: Billiam4 (3,481)
    Seat 4: edwinro (6,711)
    Seat 5: HERO(8,472)
    Seat 6: underflow (8,335)
    Seat 8: DJKebab (6,875)
    Seat 9: Chewdogg8 (5,165)
tjmjr posts the small blind of 100
Billiam4 posts the big blind of 200
The button is in seat #1
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to HERO [Qc Js]
    edwinro folds
    HERO calls 200
    underflow folds
    DJKebab folds
    Chewdogg8 folds
    allbluffs34 calls 200
    tjmjr calls 100
    Billiam4 checks
    *** FLOP *** [8s Ac 5d]
    tjmjr bets 400
    Billiam4 folds
    HERO raises to 1,200
    allbluffs34 folds
    tjmjr calls 800
    *** TURN *** [8s Ac 5d] [3h]
    tjmjr checks
    HERO bets 3,200
tjmjr raises to 3,780, and is all in
HERO folds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (How did i just fold for 580 into a 9,600 pot)
Uncalled bet of 580 returned to tjmjr
    tjmjr mucks
    tjmjr wins the pot (9,600)
    DJKebab: ???
    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot 9,600 | Rake 0
    Board: [8s Ac 5d 3h]

Seat 2: tjmjr (small blind) collected (9,600), mucked

was i right to fold for those extra 580 chips? or should i have called because of the huge pot odds despite the fact that 99% of the time i'll be drawing dead

please note this is not to become a discussion forum for how incredibly bad my play is in this hand!!!!!

pointless sticking in last 500.Its obvious he's got the A or better to which you are simply drawn dead.If the players at the table bitch and start asking "How could you fold ?"then let them and just rag on about how u were multi tabling and clicked the fold button by accident ;)

Its funny cuz i sometimes have one of your moments in a tourney when i'm comfotably stacked and feel like bullying and most of the time i end up in the above situation

Fold preflop, your raise on the flop is fine but when he calls you need to shut down, he has an ace and he is almost certainly not folding

    Fold or raise preflop.

Usually when the first player leads into a field, in an unraised pot, he has the goods. I dont like your raise on the flop, and I really hate putting any more chips into the pot when he calls said raise.

And I dont like open limping QJo in ep either :).

Finally - yes its a fold, you are almost certainly drawing 100% dead.

i appreciate the fact that the hand has indeed been very badly played and that is not what i am questioning.

fuzzbox thinks it is a fold for those 560 chips into that 9600 pot as we are indeed almost 100% drawing dead, that is the way that i also saw it!!

I would call, its not often you get nearly 20 - 1

I'll give you a 1000-1 when I've an ace and you've jq with no draws and one card to come.

    Can i have a pair?

Anyway he wont have an ace 100% of the time here, so I think id call

You're right, he has a set some of the time and two-pair other of the time :).

Without commenting on how the hand was played at all, but I'd also call here, 20-1 is just too good. (I think it's slightly less than 100% of the time your drawing dead here, maybe 95% - hence a call ;))

I'd also call for the info as to what he was playing, obviously you also give away info, but I'd just adjust to this new image.

Who knows he might have 1010?? (Fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed!!)

EDIT: I missed he was the SB, but .... still call... Although if you're bluffing here either put him in, or bet smaller so you can fold..... but I could never fold when given 20-1 odds. It's the height of rudeness :D
