    hi there, anyone want there music played in the pub i work in? i play my own and it does get some good attention.

    Dude this is actually a good idea , you should have a board with artists name and stuff on it itd be a good selling point for a pub too .supporting irish music ..id send you two tracks

    you saying you wouldnt want your music played in a pub if it doesnt have an imro licence?

    the fact is if you play music you need a music license. Aren't you an IMRO member yourself? You shouldn't be falling on the side of hungry venue owners...

    I see the idea of giving irish acts some coverage to punters, but royalties is one of the few sources of income for emerging acts and at the end of the day the venue is using music it didn't write, record or release.

    i see both sides savman, but id say 90% of the people in my pub aint been near a record shop in years, so if they are not gonna buy the stuff, they might as well hear it. then, if it does get to the stage where it is released and on the radio, a few more people will be familair with it, thus inhancing the possibility of them buying it.

    but i do get the whole rolaty thing aswell, (pmd you with what i got off imro this term, ahem) , , anyway, i better take your stuff off my playlist, ooops. ;)

    Maybe you're right although I thought the idea was to get folks to buy it. But fair play, nice to hear of someone not in it for the money...
