Mono sound only on scarts

I have a relatively new Philips TV, however I've struggled to get stereo sound on the Scart inputs. I use good quality Monster scart cables, but despite this the sound on the TV is mono only. There is an RCA input on the side of the TV, and using this does allow stereo sound. I send the sound output from my satellite boxes…

There is an RCA input on the side of the TV, and using this does allow stereo sound.

I send the sound output from my satellite boxes and DVD player to my hi-fi so I don't miss out on stereo sound, but it's still a nuisance not having stereo sound off the TV....

Is there anything I'm doing wrong or should I call out an engineer?
