Package Holiday Suggestions

I am at my wits end trying to come up with a destination for a package holiday in a months time. Thing is I don't know much about all the resorts on offer. I took a half day yesterday to go into a few travel agents and found them most unhelpful. What I'm looking for is something that ticks most of these boxes.

Resort that is not packed full of teenagers.
Worthwhile day trips to go on and see some history
    pretty not tacky
    sandy beaches
restaurants, cafes and bars....don't need nightclubs.

I'm going with my boyfriend, we're 25 and 26....it's like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Any body been to anywhere that sounds like this? ANY advice appreciated.

I'm going on almost exactly what you described in about 2 weeks time! Myself and my girlfriend (same ages as above)..... heading to the South of Spain, its ment to be good from what i heard from friends. The price isnt too bad, just over a grand for the two of us, flights and self catering accomodation.

Your surrounded with the mini adventures like cable car to the top of a mountians, Parks, Water activities, Its got it's bars and restaurants, nice beaches, along that coast. I recomend heading away from the tourist spots as they can be a little tacky and expensive.

You might not get much in the line of peace and quiet as it is peak season, July being one of the hottest. Teenagers won't get on ur nerve's as much as the loud drunken 18-20 year olds... ;) ha!

Check out clubtravel.ie (good for booking late and some good deals) I think Sunworld is another one.....

Myself and my gf are just back from Agadir in Morocco, it is a lovely place, though still a bit of a building site. we didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. It is ideal for 1 week, and 2 weeks if you really love lying in the sun.

it is not packed with teenagers, far from it actually, very nice for couples.

Didn't go on any trips but were told that they are good, especially the ones to marrakech

Definetly not tacky, no loud music, etc.
    sandy beaches
restaurants, cafes and bars....Morocco was a french outpost so loads of french tourists, and we all know how thw french enjoy thier food, so morocco caters well for them, meals range from 5 to 50 euro.

we are a little older than you and we really enjoyed it, if you like turkey you will love morocco.

Thanks for your reply Goslie, sounds amazing. But what's the situation with alchohol? is it only served in the hotels? I do like wine with my dinner and I've heard that in Tunisia it can be a problem, just wondering if Morocco is the same.

We're staying just outside the town of Termilinous, It's about an hours bus ride east of Malaga Airport I think. Like I said, there are some nice beaches along the coast and plenty to keep you occupied for a weeks stay. We got self catering accommodation, which is grand coze I hate the whole 8am hotel breakfast thingy.... but that just us. I recommend you check out the deals on that clubtravel website.

I've heard some reports on this plus issues with the drinking water. Oh, plus getting recognizable and good solid edible food can also be an issue. One of my mates came back totally cultured shocked.... but Tunisia he said was very different and very beautiful.

Be aware that there are some mad places in Zakynthos - Kalamaki and Laganas spring to mind. You'll be fine further down the Argassi Peninsula tho where the turtle sanctuaries are.
