    Hi guys,

Need a little bit of advise, I recently came off the Pill after 7 years of using it & since I did my sex drive has gone through the roof! Is this normal? I'm not too worried about it but my bf even commented about it last night.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Cheers,

    R

I'd say, don't worry about it, and just enjoy it.

My partner and I had exactly the same experience. As previous poster said enjoy. It did leave a lingering suspiscion however that the pill is actually supressing natural desires. I know that for a certain age group there is probably no better solution than the contraceptive pill but as a bloke I still feel a bit guilty that young women have to risk taking a long term medication while we got off scott free. Oh well - I suppose the unspeakable snip kind of makes up for it

    my gf went through this.

she always had a great appetite for sex, then went on the 3 month (deprovura?!?) injection and lost all interest.

in an act of desperation we tried taking her off it, within 2-3 weeks she was hungrier than ever for luvin.

these drugs seem to diminish your sex drive, now that you have your hormones back you are as horny as ever. dont be concerned, enjoy it. Your boyfriend will be counting his blessings :D

Your fella's in for a good time then..... but I dunno, maybe it's your body wanting to get pregnant because it couldn't for so long....

Same sentiments here. I had a serious problem with my gf's
sex drive. She had no interest at all and told me she wouldn't
care if she never had another. But when she hit 30 and wanted
a baby she came off the pill and bam-ba-boom her desire for
hanky-panky shot back!!! She's never felt so good about herself.
She was on the pill since her teens, originally for her acne
    but she's never looked back.

Course the only problem now is the use of condoms. We both
hate them but I'm too young to get the snip (an argument
I'm not going to stop for a long while) so although our drives
are more balanced penetration was better on the pill.
I'd love to try a male pill if theres one out there...

Well it's just that sex even feels different to me now, I mean I'm starting to think that the pill didn't suit me at all, & i'm thinking about times with my BF that I made excuses not to have sex & all the time it could have been the Pill that was causing me to feel that way. I mean before I came off the pill it didn't bother me if I only had sex once a week or even less & now since I came off it I seem to want it everyday... I was interested to see if it was that it just didn't suit me or have other people felt like this when thay came off the pill??

same with my better half, and 12 months later she is still in the same boat, she loves it, so should you.

Think of it this way, you now get what you want, your BF certainly cant complain (i was delighted) and all it took was for you to stop taking the pill.

take advantage of it. there is nothing wrong with you a little tlc wont fix...

The contraceptive pill fools your body into thinking that you are pregnant with the artifical horrormoans, so it is not unsual to have your sex drive lowered as a result of this.

Do becareful and used other forms of contraception in the mean time.

Yeah I'm only supposed to be off of it in the short term for surgery but now i'm starting to rethink going back on it

Why not have a talk with your dr about a lower dose soulution there are more options then taking the oral contraception pill.

There was research a while back which suggested that the pill causes womens sex drives to be impaired for life, if they have been on it for long enough.
That was enough for me to tell the girlfriend to get off of it, I dont like the idea of it anyway, horrible idea, having to take chemicals all the time.

Yeah I think this might be a good idea cause it's not just my sex drive that was affected, I feel a lot more relaxed since I came off of it, I mean I'm coming up to the PMS stage of my cycle & usually I could be moody at this stage & for some reason I'm chilled out!!
