a graphics card with 2 outputs.most new1s have this.there are options on which set up to use but i find horizontal span to be the best. Its the same as having one big screen.

I have a Dell Dimension 800 so its fairly new,I would hope the graphics card has 2 outputs.

If you go for a flat screen LCD, make sure the max resolution on the monitor is at least 1280 X 1024.

A lot of LCD TVs out there claim to support PC input.. but their max resolution is 640 X 480.. which won't even fit one table!!

I'm getting the 24" Dell flat screen which is not cheap...

    check out www.komplett.ie

you dont need a graphics card with two outputs, if the one you have only has one you can buy another cheap card and put a second monitor on that

How many tables do you play at once?
Is no overlap really that much better?

    1) Make sure that the graphics card on your pc has two outputs. I doesn't matter if they are different connections (one DVI nad one VGA) as long as the monitors you have can support both DVI and VGA. As far as I know you also need windows XP.

Alternativly you could get a second graphics card. It's up to you really, go check some prices. I have no clue what is involved in running two graphics cards in one pc.

    2) Make sure the monitor you get has a max resolution of 1600 x 1200 if you want to play with no overlap. And believe me that is what you want.

    3) You have full control over where your tables and applications appear. You simply drag them across from one screen to the other just like you can drag them around on the one screen you have now.

    4) Get the biggest monitors your budget will allow. Personally I would feel that I was wasting my time doing this at all unless I was getting at least 20" screens. Bigger screens means the tables are bigger at small resolutions.

    5) Get flatscreens because they easier on the eyes. This helps when multitabling for long periods.

    6) Don't get Dell 2007's. They have unresolved banding issues on both the widescreen and normal versions.

    7) I can reccomend the "Samsung Syncmaster 204B". I had mine delivered about 3 weeks ago and they have been perfect so far. I got them both for €1k from Komplett.ie

The colour banding has been fixed. I got two Revision A02 models last week and they're fine. It was the earlier A00 and A01 models that had the problem. The only issue for me is that I see they're now on sale for €510 each, whereas I paid €700 each just a week ago. I'm going to have to give Dell a call and see if I can get the difference refunded to my credit card.

Edit: Just off the phone to Dell and they're going to refund the difference. Have to say I've had a very good experience with Dell, I've seen some posts on the net criticizing their customer service but I found them more than helpful.
