Can freeview be picked up in Letterkenny? A friend is considering investing in a aerial if it's possible. Otherwise, it has to be a Sat dish.

He picks up BBC 1,2, UTV and CH4 Perfectly with an indoor aerial.

Where abouts in Letterkenny. I believe it's possible in some areas (like Glencar) where you can get a good reception from Limavady.

Otherwise, signals may come from Strabane, which does not carry Freeview signals.

Sadly for me, I'm getting my signals from Strabane :( Though if I put up a high gain aerial outside, I'd probably get Limavady.

I don't know the exact name but he's up near highland Radio's studios.

I think Highland Radio are up at Mountain Top, so reception from Limavady up there should be good.

I think your main problem with DTT from Limavady will be possible co-channel interference from Truskmore killing reception of multiplexes C & D. You may be in a fortunate enough spot where you could see Limavady quite well and the line to Truskmore is obscured, or the aerial does a good enough job of ignoring Trusky. Apart from that, the remining four multiplexes I'd say would be worth a go.

Hmm, you could have a point there NC. Most of LY don't have any Truskmore signals worth worrying about, but up high on Mountaintop may be a different issue.

A decent signal meter may be needed to see if Truskmore will be a cause for concern, or maybe his neighbours get signals from Limavady and could be worth checking out?

Might be able to see Brogher from the Mountain Top. Swing the beam and give it a try. Power is a lot lower than Limavady but he won't have to worry about Truskmore interference?
I get freeview from Limavady in here Ballybofey, but I'm 350 feet asl and blocked from Truskmore...:)
