Any1 know of a freeware popup stopper other than the google one

    Friend wants me to put on the computer but OS does not support google's popoff app (explorer needs update and only have dialup, will take ages!!) and freeware net-nanny type app coz I do not know of any and tried downloads.com! suggestions much appreciated!!! :D

    You will need to upgrade to at least Internet Explorer 5.5. (for Firefox its ver 1.0+). Most PC Magazines or ISP connection cds have the latest version of IE on them, try that or go here. You can download most of the older versions of IE at that location and then burn to cd and give to your friend.

    I recommend Firefox 1.5, it as a pop-up blocker built in. Also it is a much better browser. You can download it here.

    Thanks a million for the help lads got a popup blocker from that excellent website suggested by PogMoThoin! No netnanny but!! anyone know any programs?
