The other day i was returning to my Triumph Dolomite when i noticed a guy and his mother standing there looking in the windows

Turns out they were the original owners of the car back in the 70's and 80's, I've got it back on the road for a few months and they were delighted with how it looked

It was really nice to talk to them, they seemed happy that it was at a good home!

    Has this happened anyone else?

Not really. I tried to contact the first owner of my car in Claifornia. Sent her some pictures of the car and asked whether she would send me some as well. The answer was "yes i have some pictures but i want US$ 500 for them"...

    End of contact ;)

3 clutch cables is hardly an appetite. anyway once you know that it's going to go at some point, you keep a spare. old cars have more than just spare wheels in the boot. That would be a good question to post. who has the mankiest boot?

The Fiat's first owner's address is 3 miles from Terenure College. in Farmhill Drive, not listed in the current 01 phone book but was in the 2004 edition, think I'll ring Sunday afternoon and hopefully get to meet the owner or their family.

The Daimler I have I've known all my life. A friend of my Fathers used to own it and used it for weddings and funerals. One of the highlights of my life was going to Baltimore to a funeral in it. I always loved it and used to sit in it as a kid and always wanted to own it. Now that I have it I'll never sell it.:D
