    Job Title: IT Helpdesk / Service Desk Manager
    Salary: circa €50k depending on experience (plus superb benefits package)
    Location: Dublin - South City Centre

    My client, a leading financial services organisation, is looking to hire an experienced IT Helpdesk/Service Desk Manager. The successful candidate will have responsibility for a service desk providing problem resolution and security administration for 800 in-house users (250 on Citrix and 550 on full PC clients) and 4,000 B2B users. The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual with previous experience at management level in a customer focussed support function. They will have a track record of initiating and delivering business change in a team orientated, service environment.

    Essential Technical Skills & Experience
    • At least 5 years relevant experience with at least 3 years in an IT support environment.
    • Proven supervisory/team lead experience.
    • Security administration and incident management experience.
    • Previous project management experience combined with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Previous experience working on SLA definitions and deadlines.
    • Excellent decision making skills.

    Desirable Technical Skills & Experience
    • CISSP and/or ITIL certification.
    • Consultancy experience in an IT environment.
    • Business Analysis experience.
    • Technical background in systems or operations.

    Responsibilities
    • Organise, direct and manage the IT Service Desk Team to provide first class service
    • Mentor the Team
    • Be a point of escalation both internally and externally
    • Act as Customer Relationship manager between IT and Business Managers
    • Liaise with Senior Management
    • Promote Support Services to new and existing customers
    • Agree overall team objectives and targets ensuring they are in line with company strategy
    • Set and agree individual objectives
    • Manage productivity levels
    • Agree and deliver Customer Service targets

    They are my client (i.e. I am on their list of approved suppliers). Big organisations like this one tend to deal with more than one agency... one or two big ones and a few niche/specialist ones. I only deal with their IT vacancies.
