im looking for some wlan nics similar to the intel PRO/WIRELESS models such as 3com or cisco to go into pc's in an office.

for some reason they want to go wireless in the office and i have to get wireless nics which will authenticate before users logs on to the machines

    any suggestions?????

    Ugh.

Any modern 802.11g card should allow you to set up a WPA connection, and have it connect before the user logs on. In fact it's Windows which governs this.

Obviously you'll be best off buying the same cards for all machines, and the same brand of routers/APs. Throughput will be horrible though, and troubleshooting a nightmare. If you're running a domain with roaming profiles you could be opening up a whole world of pain.

yeah tell me bout it..... luckily this setup is only going to be for 6 users with maybe 2 wireless printers.

its in a citrix environment so they are all used to slow speeds.

have a 3com wireless switch there and ive given it a test for speed in a similar environment to where this is going. speeds arent too bad but when i dump six users onto it, itll probably crawl.

    pain in the ass tbh
