Price of Wii games

I was just browsing through play.com and I noticed they had a Wii section up, so I decided to have a look. The games are priced at £50! That's over €70! I know that's what 360 games cost, but I thought the Wii was supposed to be easier and cheaper to develope for, and therefore the games would cost less. €70 games don't exactly fit in with Nintendo's family budget friendly attitude (Wii console < $250). Please tell me that this is play.com taking a stab in the dark at Wii software prices and missing completely!

360 is easiest to develop for I imagine, because it's basically a pc. Play are prolly taking a stab in the dark alright, cause they probably havnt recieved price point yet for wii software.

Yeah they are prolly just putting a higher price up just to cover themselves incase they are 7O odd euro.

Nintendo havent set their prices yet so play are just charging more for preorders.

yup, but the wii isn't as demanding as a 360 or ps3 (and i'd be willing to bet the toolkit for ps3 and 360 are huge while wii's is smaller), so once devs get around developing for it, they'll be able to crap out games for it. especially those who worked on gamecube titles at some point

It's the price of extra controllers that I'm worried about.

Nintendo have stated that they will not charge any more than current gen games. 60 yoyos for a new release then in the high street, although expect thieving bastards like Game to add 5-10 on to it in the first month. I'd say Paly are just covering their asses in case the prices increase like with the 360.
