Ok just about to build this rig.

    epox lna sli mobo
    amd x2 4200
    ofg 7800gtx
    1 gig gold 2-2-2 ocz
ocz 520(620 peak) watt power supply
    nxtz case lexa case
2 digital raptor hdds (74 gig each)

I might be adding a further gtx card down the line and maybe another gig of ram, I gonna see how she runs first. The case has a few fans i know and graphics has a big cooling unit fitted onto it, what further cooling do I need?

    Cheers

    steve

I vote full 3 piece liquid nitrogen cooling.

    emm...?

Ok I would be fairly ok in putting together the computer, have done a few lesser scale projects in the past, but i never installed fans or other cooling solutions (no need) so I am pretty out in the cold on this - genius pun there...

    CPU cooler & 120mm fans front&back :p
    Still can't remember if it's push-pull or pull-push config that's best...

You shouldn't need any extra cooling at all is the simple answer unless something is outside the norm like for instance the room is always warm or the case is in a tight spot with poor ventilation.

As far as i know u should have your computer at 25 Degrees or lower!

Lol dual cascade Ftw, with water-cooling and pelts on the card.

Messing aside, its doubtfull you will need any extra cooling unless you plan to overclock.

Yeah, I have a similar hardware setup to your's minus the second 7800GTX but with more RAM, faster X2, more hard drives and DVDRW drives and heat was never an issue (no extra fans beyond the CPU & GPU).

Really unless the case is in a cramped spot with no ventilation then the stock cooling will be fine for the CPU & GPU's. That said I'd get a Zalman CPU cooler though much more effective & quiet than the stock AMD cooler so it's a win, win.

I'm down with liquid nitrogen though I saw a picture of that, it looked pretty.

ftw for the win - strikes me as an odd expression, grammatically poor i'd say

Hehehe an autocascade is a cascading gas cooling system where one subzero gas cools another hich cools another, gradually reacing temps in the -200celcius arena.
Recycling Ln2 in a Ln2 system with an integrated pump allowing the Ln2 to be contuniaally supplied to the cards/chip.

FTW is an old IRC expression from years ago.

More along the lines of advice on removing a single stage Vapo Xe and putting it into the bottom of a Lian Li pc2100v.
