I like a raise to 150ish. Looks like button has a set or a pair and a flush draw. Charge him accordingly.

    Do you have diamonds?

I just shove. (but I dont check the turn hardly ever).

Personally i would've lead the turn because if one of them is flushing you dont want to give a free card. I think button is afraid of the K and realises that a str8 is possible and hence his weak turn bet.

By check raising now you're SCREAMING i have the str8 but my leading i dont feel its that obvious. You have to make it 150-165 to give bad odds to a draw.

Your lucky button sucks other wise checking the turn here is very bad play. if button is on flush draw then you have offered him a free chance to get there and what’s worse is if he does you will pay him off .as played if the K is not a diamond then shove and if it is just call.

    K is not diamond
I take from this that El button thinks I am on a draw surely he shove a set at this point so prob a big king
Player is not awful and i think he folds a big K to a shove so i decided to call
and shove the river hoping he would see it as a bluff and call river was non diamond and i shove villain folds

Was this awful play on my part ?

    You flat called.

Wouldn't it suck if the river was a diamond, a ten, a queen, paired board and he's paid nothing to see it. Now you're losing to AQ, a boat and a flush and you priced him in after being presented with a lucky chance to check raise.

He will call with far more hands on the turn than he will on the river, so shove now.

and dont check the turn, lead for 100.

people pay to draw.people pay to see a card to see if it can help them or not.
when all the cards are out and there is no more cards to come they have either made their hand or have not.but if they have not they will not pay more.
the point is ,you have given him a free chance to see if his hand improves.he can then play perfect poker accourdingly.thats why your play was bad.
