I want to get one, even though they're supposed to be painful. The problem is, I have developed a bit of an ass rash. Will this be a problem? (I'm not talking about a "VIP" massage here.

hehe, not a problem.

some will ask you to take your shirt off, but most of them will do your massage through your clothes.

oh, and if it doesn't hurt, it's not a proper thai massage.

don't just walk into the first place you see either, ask around, best bet would be where you're staying, quite often they have someone come in on a daily basis. you'll probably pay a bit more, but it's worth it not to have to go miles back home with all your muscles all floppy and relaxed.
