USIT Canada question

This is to anyone who has used USIT for the Canada working holiday visa program before.

I sent off my visa application (Under 35 program) about 2 weeks ago after having a spot come available on the waiting list. They say 6-8 weeks before I'll get the documents. Has anyone had to wait longer or gotten it sooner?

Also, when I get approved do I have to wait a FURTHER 4 weeks before I can leave for Canada because USIT want you to book your flight 4 weeks in advance?

Any help is much apreciated, the point is I want to leave ASAP! :)

    -J

PS: I would ask USIT these questions but they rarely reply to email and say they don't accept calls.

they say they don't accept calls? ... I rang them when I had questions about my visa. I'm on the same program you're on, over here since december.. actually.. I def. rang them

I had to sure, to book my tickets.. I think you're after getting a wire or two crossed somewhere. And actually, I emailed them a few times and always got a reply back the next day.. some times within a few hours.

basically I don't remember, just ring them. Or turn up at the office and ask someone.

You can get a working holiday visa if you are 35? Is this true?

I went on the Canada work abroad programme last year. I have say firstly I got fleesed by USIT. If you get the chance do the solo option as if you have to book the flights with Usit you wont get a good deal. I know this from experince I worked in Canada for the company who host the programme and I seen how much they fleesed the Irish Swappers compaired to the UK company who does it. I priced the same flights with another travel agent in Dublin before i left and it was €200 cheeper than usit. But the experince is worth it. If you do it do the solo programme and dont book your flights with USIT.

But you will have a great time and learn lots wish I was going again.

On their tracking login area it says we don't accept calls lol, so I called them and got the info :P

I found out that I have to wait for the documents to come back from the Canada Commissions guys before I can book my flights, so that will be around end of July. Luckily I only have to book a week in advance since I picked the Solo.

Unfortunately their terms must have changed because now Solo option people have to book flights and insurance with USIT themselves. Wasn't counting on having to pay €400 for insurance, grr.

Oh well, still worth it. Thanks for your replies.
