Im thinking of getting a lip piercing. Just wondering if a labret and middle lip piercing are the same? As in, is a labret piercing just the stud under the middle lip and is a middle lip ring piercing a seperate affair or is it like an ear piercing, where you get the one piercing of the middle lip but you can wear a stud…

A lip ring will be place just on the border of the lip and while a labret will be done lower down.

As far as I'm aware, techinically a lip piercing is through the lip, like i have in mine:

But most people don't get the actual lip pierced and get the hole just underneath. The labret is a bit further down.
