How to get BBC3 and BBC4 on Sky box?

I have a donated Sky Box, no card and have always had about 13 BBC radios stations and BBC3/4 TV. However when speaking to a few family members who have sky subscriptions they do not have the BBC3/4 TV channels.

How can people who have Sky subs get the BBC3/4 TV channels?

Is it just a matter of taking out the card, a bit of a bore, or would they have to set them as other channels? also abit of a bore.

    Confused---

Thanks for bringining it to my attention.

So as I have a box with no card and have not set BBC3/4 in other channels

but have it on EPG, would my niece and sister - bot Sky subbed-

get BBC3/.4 to show on their EPG by simply removing their card.

I would go this way in their case as it would be easier than giving instructions for "other channels " settings over the phone.

    Thanks dohouch

For an Irish Sky Sub, its impossible to watch BBC THREE or BBC FOUR on the EPG.

There is a trick that can be performed to get the GB EPG, I've not tried it recently, others might confirm it still works...

    Got to 501 Sky News
    Press Red for interactive
Turn the card in the box upside down
Press the Sky button to exit interactive, wait a few seconds
Tune to 101, you should get BBC 1 London, 103 will be ITV1 Central West and 115 is BBC THREE.
Note: Channel 4 and five are not free-to-air, so they won't come on using this method, as per sticky thread.

Of course, with the card upside down, you will not be able to see any of the subscription channels,

If you do the above on a Sky plus box could you recored the new channels...?

Nope, recording on Sky+ depends on the card inserted correctly, as it works on an active subscription.

A Sky+ box without a subscription to Sky is the same as a normal Sky digibox with no subscription.

I've edited as with latest SW it seems to only work with NO card. But only if removed during interactive!

    Thanks for the alternative method.

This method would then give the EPG that I have on unsubbed box. Just two things more:

    1. I'm puzzled as to how I ended up with the EPG that I have as I did not carry out the mentioned procedure : i.e. Sky News, select "interactive", etc except that I did it accidently which would be quite a coincidence.

    2. There is no risk involved. But then as soon as they insert their Sky card again their EPG would revert to normal R.O.I EPG. This then makes the "other channels" look like the better solution, as once it is done it stays there.

Well sometimes the Sky box forgets the "other channels" and they only have now/next program guide.
