Welcome to July everybody...how was June for ya? The Crumbs System™ I hear you say...

Ok one of those typical tough Saturdays...

    TROPICAL CHIC 4:15 Curragh

Won her maiden (looked a decent enough race) in good style and Weld says that this won has a lot of promise and could well be a stakes horse. Should run well so at a big looking 8-1

    A tentative each way -

    OUR HENRI 2:40 Curragh

First time out for Liam McAteer. Another well thought of animal, a speedy sorts who needs good ground. Is probably better than those that have had a run, the other newcomers could be anything though. Still, 33-1...

    Newcastle 3:20

As as has been well documented...Greewich Meantime would have been well handicapped to win this but things have been made a lot harder by the draw. Although it would be difficult to rule him out I think that Dorothy's Friend looks like a horse that has been trained specifically for this race. Is a decent enough price and is my tentative choice for this.

    Curragh 3:40

The big one in Ireland today. I thought Hurricane's Run in Ireland last time was made to look better than it was by some disappointing opposition. Obviously with Hhurricane Run losing next time maybe he just hasn't come into himself this year yet. This would put a worry over Alexander Goldrun forme today...I think the one to be on against her is Queen Cleopatra. How many times have we seen an O Brien horse just fail in a big targeted race and then when at a bigger price pops up when everyone is looking at someone else. She's getting a lot of weight for this kind of contest from fillies who may not be at the top of their game anymore and an improving three year old could cause an upset....(or AG will hack up)

It's Mikao for me in the Northuberland plate, will be well suited by conditions and is well drawn and looks open to improvement.

Elsewhere with the Johnson stable in good form Against the Grain at 3:55 looks a good bet, he was just headed close home last time, that was only his 2nd start so should come on for it.

And finally one of my old favourites New Seeker looks the one to beat at 3:35, ideally suited by 7 furlongs will probably try to make all.
