Before I uninstall Thunderbird on my old Dell PC, is there a workable way of transferring my old messages from Thunderbird on the PC to the Thunderbird on my Intel Imac?

Hi I'm looking to the same and been doing a bit of searching. Here's what I've found...

    Thunderbird-Emails-From-Pc-to-Os-X-Mail-20.html

Also, I'm using something called MozBackup for backing up all my Thunderbird and Firefox profiles/preferences etc on my PC laptop. Only problem is, this program is not compatable with Macs so I'm not sure if it will recognise the saved data. Probably not. But the above link may be of use.

Got my new machine today (Intel MacBook) and just transfered all my Mozilla profiles over to it from my PC laptop. Simple. Here's how...

    1) On your PC, copy the whole 'Profile' folder into any shared folder (usually any folder inside the 'Shared Documents' folder).
    2) In the Finder in Mac OS X Tiger, click 'Network' in the left panel and connect to the PC and select the folder where your profile is.
    3) Drag the folder into the 'Profiles' folder on your Mac (/Users/[username]/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/)
    4) Open profiles.ini in TextEdit or any text editor.
    5) Change the "path to profile" to the name of your new profile.
    6) Change "StartWithLastProfile=1" to "StartWithLastProfile=0". Save the file, and close it.
    7) Open Thunderbird and see the results.

Also works for Firefox profiles (just remember to drag the new profile into /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/ )

I transfered over 1GB of mail wirelessly to my new MacBook and it worked a treat!!
