    Hi all....I just got this irishbroadband ripwave service and straight away im having problems....The ripwave itself is getting connected but i cant open a web page....when i bring up the cmd window and type ipconfig its doesnt list any TCP/IP info, it just says media state...media disconnected...also, my network connection says a cable is unplugged...and wont let me connect...anyone know how to fix this??

    first thing would be to try a different patch lead

    From the command line ping your ripwave modem on the IP 169.254.254.1.
    Should you receive 4 reply from’s, this indicates there is full communication between modem and pc.

    With “request timed out” indicates that the problem is Ethernet based, i.e. nic card, cable, eth port on modem, TCP/IP.

    If you get this request time out check out that the lights on the back of the ripwave or your network card are flashing this indicates there is traffic.

    After that I would try uninstalling and re-installing the Network card drivers.

    do a power cycle after that and tell me how it goes
