Sky+ Rant!!!

    What is up with Sky+, for the past 2 to 3 months my box has being hanging if I put it on stand by. Once on stand by it wont record anything and I have to reboot it to get into any of my recordings!! I see the systems software is now 4.02d, when it was 4.01a or b it was fine for me but others were having problems!! What can be so hard seeing as the Pace box is pretty standard!!

    Another thing that p1ssed me off was last week I got rid of the movie channels, wasnt gettin enough use out of them. I had around 3 films recorded with Sky+ but cos I got rid of the movies I couldnt view them. Even though when I recorded them I was paying for them!! Its madness!!:mad:

    Why do we have a such a sh1t choice, between NTL and Sky!! Or else the go it alone option which I may well look into more now!!

    When it comes to choice of Pay-TV, many don't have a choice, it's just Sky or standard FTA stuff.

    With regards to the movies, that is indeed true. When you record movie channels onto HDD, they're recorded encryped. Stops the ability to move the recorded stuff onto a PC etc.

    The SkY+ records EVERYTHING with fresh extra encryption. Everything is recorded as is so the pay TV channels are decryped by whatever viewing card package is in effect at playback. Downgrade or cancel and recordings are not playabale.

    But on the plus side you can record a load of movies that you are not subscribed to and later subscribe and watch the movies.

    Didnt realise that it works the other way aswell!!

    Must keep that in mind;)
