I won't go into the specifics because it's not relevant to the question. I'm recently seperated about 4 months now.

We were renting a house in a council estate. My ex is working a part time job in a local shop. We have 3 children, which I take at weekends and some days during the week and for which I also pay my ex money.

While we're not the best of pals, we have remained semi-friendly and civil.

When my wife informed the council we were speperated to get the rent lowered they said we had to be seperated 3 months before they could lower the rent. As far as I know she went to the social welfare, not sure if it was for lone parent or what ever but they said she was only entitled to €3 a week!

I think she had recently applied for FIS. Which as I understand it, you have to be working to qualify for. She just found out that where she's working is going to close for a few months for renovations.

Where we were living every fncker up there was living with their boyfriends etc, claiming lone parent, paying fnck all rent and getting every other benefit they could.

Now my wife & I are seperated she's being told she's not entitled to anything bar €3!

Does anybody know what she should be enititled to and from who?

    Thanks.
