i think one of my servers is connected to a 10 meg port rather than 100 meg I don't have physical access to the machine but I can log in via ssh. I am on the same network so is there anyway to do a speed test to find out?

scp (ssh copy) reports bandwidth usage.

    usage is: scp <from> <to>

but you need to include the server in either <from> or <to>

    example is:

    scp myfile.txt myusername@myserver:/home/myusername/myfile.txt

    use a large file :)
