What you think of us as an organisation?

Have a meeting with my boss to discuss what I think of the organisation, what improvements could be made, what I liked, what I dont like etc.

Thing is, I have no other experience to call upon to say whats good, whats bad etc. This is my first proper job other than part time/summer work.

    Any tips?!?

What annoys you at work? Do you feel like you're not given enough training? that there's a communication gap with management? that the food in the canteen could be a bit better? that you think some of your tasks could be done in an easier way? that you've nothing to complain about at all and love your job and everything about the place?

You may be going through an assesment with your company which will determine the raise in pay you might get, all they want to know is how you think you have been performing during the last year and and if you think anything in the job can be improved upon.

If you dont know what to say just tell them everything is peachy and you love your job and think they run a tight ship, but if there are things you dont like about the job try telling them in a diplomatic way, dont just say "I hate doing this work" try saying something like "it's not that I hate the work, it's just that it can get so busy and I get snowed under, maybe someone could give me a hand when it gets that busy, I mean we are a team after all" or just fill them full of crap and say you love the place and that they are all a swell bunch of people.

    Anyway dont worry about it.

I should point out that this is a meeting towards the end of a work placement. And I do feel its more than just a casual chat. Im not looking for "say this" and "say that". Just looking for tips on how to approach it and what the meeting could mean.

    Thanks for the replies.

Ah, end of placement meeting. I'd imagine your manager will have a format reasonably worked out for this. Just follow his/her lead and you'd be fine. Try to think of things she might ask such as: how have you found your time here? was there anything we could have done to help you fit in easier / learn more? etc.

If it's not offered, you'll look well asking for some feedback.

Are you hoping to be rehired when you finish college?

My placement exit interview was just an hour long bitchfest on my part. More burnt bridges than medieval London. :)

Just treat it as a casual chat. Their decision to rehire you or not to rehire you was probably made months ago so there should be little pressure on you to make an "impression".

Are you obliged to co-operate with exit interviews?

Just make sure you don't say anything negative about your boss!
