Al Gore si getting big "props" for this movie, but I must say....I find to difficult to endorse someone who is jetting around the world to deliver his message in person that we need to break our dependancy on oil.

Dude...if we need to break the dependancy, then find a way to spread your message that doesn't involve jetting around the globe. Show you're actually serious about trying to tackle the issue as best we can, rather than show that you're both a contributer and the harbinger of the doom you are contributing full-on to.

I know, maybe he could make a movie of his presentation that hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people could see!

Oh wait, that's what "An Inconvenient Truth" is!

I've seen the movie - it was showing in a suburban multiplex in the US when
I was there recently. I can't remember the last time I paid to see a
documentary, and then recommended to my friends that they pay to go see it too.

One of the things that I noticed in the credits is that they used a
Carbon Offset service (basically they bought carbon credits to offset the
CO2 produced in the production of the movie).

Imagine all those people driving to the multiplex to see Cars, or The Da Vinci Code or Superman Returns, or half a dozen other "summer block busters". At least some of them are coming away from the movie theatre with a new insight into the whole issue of global warming.
