Was just messing with long exposure, I was bored. Tried a good few variations. Not sure about the crop on the second one, I like the twist and the colours but think it needs more. Tried a few crops but wasn't happy with any, so thought would get your advice... :) Be gentle :o

How did you do them ? What are they ? The 2nd one looks kind of 3d art-ish. I liked the effect of the sharpness at the green end of the 2nd one.

Sorry, it is a star-shaped slinky toy!! No tricks involved, no processing, just lots of experimentation ;)

duh - well hands up who feels stupid ! I think I know the ones you mean.

I thinking it was 3d art or maybe a christmas tree light dropped through the frame or something like that. I prefer the 2nd one - I think the sharpness works great in this type of picture. In the first one - I think it may look better if the final sharp star was a little bit brighter - not over-saturated just a bit brightened. I think the crop on both is fine - if you were bored you could maybe try cropping the 2nd one to have the slinky filling the frame then rotate it so that it goes left->right instead of up->down. just a thought.

I love that second one, with the different colours and the twist. I thought that it would look really good on it's side too. It's great to see something different, and it looks like you had great fun too!

Take the side rotation to the extreme... not a serious shot, just having slinky fun! Thanks for the suggestions guys!

    Anyone dizzy yet?

i love the first one :), i think i'd have it landscape, looks like a pretty kool shooting star to me. I think the second pic is kool but a little lost in all the negative space. The third you posted is my favourite :) gorgeous colours. Well done!
