    Just a quick question for anyone who is currently studying Comp Sci or has completed the course;

    How many hours per week is the course roughly? I see the example first year timetable, but what about second third and final years?

    Well i've just done 1st year, great course, very much recommend it.

    I was looking in the 25 hour week area, plus the occasional external assignment. That timetable looks a lot more crowded that it actually is.

    I've uploaded PDFs of each years timetables onto http://snappieT.com/tcd/timetables

    why does everyone care how many hours ye have? the courses with the fewest hours tend to just mean more time in the library studying...unless your doing some sorta stupid courses *cough* arts*cough* you'll end up spending ~30hrs a week about the place to do it properly.....

    about 20 hours in first year, 20 hours this year. *shrug* its not a bad course...

    Thanks for the prompt and informitive reply snappieT, much appreciated.

    Nietzschean: I was asking purely to compare the workload with the DCU Computer Apps course in terms of hours per week and overall hours spent on particular aspects of the course.

    As much as I would love to swan about college and do a course with a sum total of two lectures per week, I'd much rather a course that will benefit and interest me; regardless of the work involved.

    Perhaps the hours aren't long, and there arern't that many assignments, however there's a marvellous regime of synchronising all the assignments so everything's due at exactly the same time, so that there isn't enough time to complete them all properly, so you're stuck up until obscene hours making several mediocre projects, rather than being sensible spreading them out...which I for one, find VERY annoying.

    I very much agree with this. You would have weeks on end with no assignments, then 6 assignments with 3 week deadlines suddenly appear. That really should be organised better.

    Indeed, hence the sentiments of my earlier post, which was unfortunately deleted ;_;

    It's okay, I read it before it was deleted!

    I've more or less decided on Trinity, seems a decent enough course.
