Cat 5 cable! Help Needed

    I want to connect a computer up to my BB modem. Its about 15m away from the modem. Will this cable do the job ? Just making sure im getting the right one and i just used to call it lan cable.

    it sure will :) how they can charge that much for it though i dunno, and shipping on top of it .. u know anyone who can give u one ?, didnt one come with your router ?

    Yeah they gave me 3 or 4 cables with my modem but only about 1m long each. Needs to be 20m as thats how far my brothers computer is away from the modem. We use wirelss but signal is not that great from where he is. And it has to go through some walls also.

    Thanks for the help will be putting in a order tonight. Well its a better price then what PC World wanted for there 15m cable €44 euros!

    Nooo way !... did they have Balaclavas on ? !!, surely u could get one from a buddy r something, or someone here on boards !, Or else an electrician could easily make one up for you. what part of the country u in ?

    Thats an awful price in PC World!:eek: 20M of CAT5 is €10 for marx-computers.com, if you knew someone in Dublin that would pick it up for you, shipping might be cheaper also.

    Me and my brother were doing a order from komplett anyways. So we just split the shipping ( €5.50 each ). Prob will get it sometime next week.

    €44? FFs, I pay €20(ex VAT) for a whole box (as in a big FO spool). Don't buy things from PC world unless you have to.
