i'm new to ebay, i'm aware that paypal is the recommended method of payment. i want to buy some tickets but the german seller will only accept bank transfer.
After the auction I get in contact with you. I will send you my international bankdetails (IBAN and BIC). After the money has arrived on my bank account, I will send the tickets by airmail as an insured letter.

they have nearly 150 transactions with 100% positive feedback. am i right in thinking if i get scammed i would have no comeback? would many of you risk using bank transfer?

DONT DO IT! Its a scam!

Is the seller from Asia? [China, Singapore..?]

Ebay removed bank transfers because of this, and my own friend was just scammed out of 3,000 he transfered to an Asian for a car

Paypal is probably the safest for paying

And in general, any sellers from Asia are scammers

Hope this helps! And good luck! what are you buying??

this is quite normal in the German Ebay. Paypal didn't really take off over there as the Germans like to see their cash.

I bought a phone cover from a german seller and that was the one time I had to do a bank transfer. The seller joined in '02, so I would say you are ok.

    i agree, everything seems ok.
only in the uk you will see mostly paypal.
most of the listings on german or italian ebay dont accept paypal

Will the bank charge you when you transfer money to Germany and is it a fairly straightforward process..is it just a case of putting their details in the bank transfer section?

    Necro Necro!

It is normal on the german eBay - a common used method of payment.

Old threads should be left to sleep. Consult your bank for transaction charges.
